Today, our new music spotlight is on Bokito

Location: London via Ireland

Line-up: Vocals – Moses Moorhouse, Guitar – Joe Mashiter, Bass – Jody Lahart, Keys – Sam Cahalin, Drums – Tom Houghton

About: Drawing inspiration from diverse sources such as Alt-J, Glass Animals, Parcels and Metronomy, the group’s perpetually energetic modern indie is regulated by ergonomic melodies that make sure that the polished Bokito sound never spills over into the frantic. Paired with Moses’ often honest and introspective lyrics, the five-piece splits the difference between life’s light and dark sides to leave plenty for listeners to take from each play; of which there will likely be many.

What Hidden Herd say: Continuing their genre-bending journey, Bokito return with the melody-laden ‘How Dare You‘. Moses Moorhouses’ notorious voice acts as a tender, dynamic siren, flittering above funk-tinged instrumentals to deliver a sound that resonates and grabs at every turn.
