Unabashed indie rock is tricky to come by in 2015. The Art Club don’t reference Nuggets-era psychedelia, daub their tunes with a lo-fi coating or shroud their hooks with chewed cassette production – and consequently their romantic post-punk sound sticks out like a beautiful sore thumb for its instantaneous appeal.

‘Reaction’ is all-out indie dancefloor fare; a song that has all the makings of a Pulp or Suede classic, which seeks to rejuvenate limbs and galvanise lips. The Brighton-via-Morecambe band share the same penchant for melody as hometown mates The Heartbreaks and their latest cut’s key ingredients are euphoric chords and David Murdoch’s stellar vocals, which veer between Tom Smith-ish lows and Brett Anderson-like highs.
