With two standout electro-pop tunes to his name in 2019, London’s CC Honeymoon (AKA Asher Preston) is fast catching eyes and ears in the capital and beyond.

Performing as his alter ego, the naturally-reserved Preston is uncharacteristically extroverted live and a string of raucous sell-out shows have firmly cemented him as one to watch.

Before Hidden Herd Presents welcomes CC Honeymoon to The Finsbury on Friday 18th October, we threw some quick-fire questions his way.

How would you describe CC Honeymoon to a stranger?

“It’s essentially a solo project, from an alter ego I’ve created writing love songs for the hopeless, which combines synth pop and white boy RNB.”

Who are the biggest influences on your sound and why?

“My friends, family and lovers because they make me who i am and help create the stories I tell.”

What was the best gig you’ve played so far?

“Either my last headline show at The Waiting Room, which was sold out, or British Summer Time festival supporting Florence + the Machine. Both very different, but equally special.”

You’re based in London – what’s your local music scene like?

“OVERWHELMING.”

Who are the THREE other new artists we should listen to right now and why?

“Faux Real, Pristine Babe, NENAH – cos they know how to write a tune!”

And finally, what does the rest of 2019 hold for CC Honeymoon?

“I’m working towards my first EP, which will hopefully be out beginning of next year. Aside from and writing a lot, I’m just focusing on gigging and introducing people to CC Honeymoon.”

CC Honeymoon will play Hidden Herd Presents at The Finsbury on Friday 18th October alongside Pelicandy, Vanity Fairy and Videocean. Free tickets are available via DICE and Eventbrite.
