Grand Pavilion‘s sound is irrefutably smooth; the kind of act that prevalent remixers fight over to be the first to the draw. This however takes nothing away from the track itself, with the London-based (via Australia) duo’s style resonating as fresh and confidently carrying it’s own identity.
‘Anywhere’ was inspired by the ‘excitement of a fresh, summer fling’ and it certainly carries an interesting mix of sounds, duly supported by the impressive platter of talents that the duo carry between them. Angus’s vocals on the track are distorted and stretched to beguiling levels, playing with octaves and effects to the point where they become an instrument of their own. Coupled with a strongly progressive electronic instrumental track, their production shows solid depth and quality.
This appears to be the start of a big year for Tom Hunt and Stuart McNair.
