With an almost confusing combination of blues and pop atop delicate sprinkles of 80’s charm, Beach Baby have managed to create an enjoyable track that has enough attitude to keep you coming back.
The vocals carry with them a 50’s flavour, striking similarities to Lewis Bowman of Chapel Club; this is however complemented by doo-wop cooes in the chorus which sets them far apart. It would seem that at any one time, the guitarists are quite distanced in terms of their general genre and style, but this juxtaposition does create something new out of a seemingly tried and tested formula.
‘No Mind No Money’ describes the challenges faced by your general college experience, which certainly rings true with anyone who’s been through it. We could imagine this song being one of the few you can look back on as the soundtrack to your first few years of freedom.
