This an instant head-nodder for those of you that enjoy simple, yet well-crafted, synth shapes over spontaneous percussion and a strong drum beat.

Boy Scout carry an element of James Blake‘s unexpected, yet beat-religious electronic experimentation and that quickly sets them apart from the seemingly endless offering of electronic artists coming out of London right now. The duo commit themselves to a moodier edge of the electronic spectrum, nodding to Chet Faker, with a similar ability to draw the listener into a world of ethereal escapism atop delicate synthscapes. This, coupled with an incredibly modest yet perfect use of Ben Khan-eqsue guitar, seals this track’s place on the pages of Hidden Herd.

Having been added to the Guardian’s New Bands playlist, as well as being featured in Wonderland Magazine, Boy Scout are heading in the right direction.
