‘Control’ is sun-ripe delirium at it’s best, as if the record was played at half speed. Elements of The Beatles’ melancholy aura are at play, with more modern intonations towards Tame Impala and Allah-Las. Similarly to these bands, their music sounds uplifting and positively-inclined on the surface, whilst the true depth of the song carries darker meaning; in this case, it’s the loss of control.

As Britain basks in the sun this week, let Los Angeles-based BOYO take you on an introspective journey with grace and deceptively-sincere vocal swoons. This is the music of ripped jeans, crackly radio speakers and lazy summer vibes. ‘Control’ is the first single from their upcoming LP, due out August 26th.
