An immediately likeable track with crisp, clean guitars and uplifting vocals. The instrumentals are punchy and well-executed, allowing Dance a la Plage to to sit somewhere between Hot Club de Paris and Vampire Weekend, and just like these party-starters, they have a knack for getting people moving. Their name is certainly a nod to their summer-ready, chirpy edge.
‘222’ evokes feelings reminiscent of our teenage years whilst also encompassing more modern musical trends, following bands such as Two Door Cinema Club and Foals who have also managed to crack the winning formula; all hammer-ons, assured vocals and loud vibes.
The four-piece formed in Leamington after meeting at college in 2011, and since then have been working on honing their sound. Teasing their Soundcloud audience with nothing but ‘New music coming soon…’, we can imagine an eager audience are waiting on their next big news for 2016.
