Reading seems to be the home of liquid licks and sun-tinged pop-rock, with notable credits from both Saltwater Sun and Sundara Karma alike. Next up to the plate it seems are Haize, a four-piece that could place themselves between Peace and Two Door Cinema Club, cherry-picking influences from both to create a sound that is both epic and tantalisingly catchy at the same time.

Thudding drums (like many of the songs’ elements) give ‘Solar’ mass appeal, which is further encouraged by their ability to create an undeniably ‘full’ sound – calling out to arena stages at an early point in the game. The guitars sound delicious, and dance around in a similar vein to the instrumental wonderings of Explosions in the Sky, yet these guys also have vocals to offer which gives them an undeniably comprehensive edge.
