Hurdles, the Northern Irish indie pop quartet have announced an official release for ‘France’ taken from their second EP, ‘Dusk & Dawn’ released earlier in February. The band has already received praise from various tastemakers including BBC Introducing who invited them to perform new single ‘France’ and the title track of the EP. The EP closer is a stand out for their devoted fan base, becoming a fast favourite on the live circuit due to its anthemic synth undertones and bellow-along chorus.
Sitting somewhere between Everything Everything and Phoenix, its smooth guitar and tingling intro feels both achingly 80s and immediately present all at once. Its downplayed, yet dramatic riff has an air of Foals – ‘My Number’ and feels simultaneously ready for radio and the huge festival tents and stages. The group has received phenomenal support so far and this year looks set to be their most excited to date, as ‘France’ was released on March 11th.
