Chanelling soaring guitar licks and up-tempo percussive spririt, Goodies (formerly Venture Lows) are a band that know how to make a racket, and they make it well. Ahead of their performance at our November 23rd Hidden Herd show at the Finsbury in London, we caught up to ask a few questions and hear about how their sound came about.
You’ve recently regrouped under a new moniker – Goodies. How did this come about?
It’s not actually new. We have been plying under this moniker since venture lows, we’ve just decided to make it our main name
What inspired your new name?
It’s quite a long story. Mainly though, in the words of Nardwuar, ‘it’s just a dumb, stupid name’
Who are the Top 5 biggest influences on your sound right now?
Cate Le Bon, Milano, Ty Segal, Unknown T, Jonathan Richman
Any other new artists you have played with and would recommend?
We just played with Sleep Eaters at OBL who we really liked
And finally, what does the future hold for Goodies?
A lot more racket
