Today’s new music spotlight is on Comforts.

Location: Brighton

Line-up: Samuel Dembowicz (vocals/guitar), Simon Metcalfe (vocals/guitar), Alfie Webber (vocals/drums) and Jamie Thomas (bass)

About: Comforts are a new four-piece band from Brighton, playing current indie pop with a classic twist of amped-up guitars and catchy choruses.

Bringing to mind the bands of the new-wave post-punk movement crossed with a boy-girl lyricism, Comforts communicate and explore the taboo surrounding romance through the act of everyday life.

What Hidden Herd say: Comforts craft the sort of heart-on-sleeve guitar pop that never goes out of vogue. Having bubbled under the surface for a little while now, the first fruits of their studio labour contains a hefty dose of anthemic hooks, moments of swooning euphoria and a dash of doo-wop.
