Today, our new music spotlight is on Cousin Kula

Location: Bristol

Line-up: Elliot Ellison (Vocals, Guitar), Will Wells (Vocals, Synths), Jordan Woollgar (Vocals, Guitar), Doug Cave (Synths, Saxophone), James Vine (Drums), Ollie Horne (Bass)

About: Psych-pop six-piece from Bristol with a reputation for smooth basslines topped with heady, swirling synths. Sonically they’re ones to file next to the likes of Men I Trust, Gengahr, Connan Mockasin, Superorganism. Their debut EP ‘OODLES’ was released on 2017 and after a year of working behind the scenes, they’ve now emerged with brand new single ‘Jelly Love’ as a promise of more to come in 2019. Their latest offering is sophisticated yet still innately chilled-out.

What Hidden Herd say: Cousin Kula’s latest release enters your ears with a gentle ebb and flow, delicately tickling the fancies of listeners that find themselves amidst the melancholic comforts of Genghar and Kevin Parker’s organic teasings.

For fans of: Genghar, Tame Impala
