Today, our new music spotlight is on Dan D’Lion.

Location: London

Line-up: Dan Bartlett (vocals, instrumentation, production, everything)

About: This solo project was born at Dan’s studio in Hoxton. Inspired by Jamiroquai, Tame Impala and N.E.R.D among others, Dan’s twisted, honest song-writing alongside groovy, beat-driven instrumentation create the sound of Dan D’Lion.

Dan has divided his time over the past few years between writing/ producing for artists including Salen, Punctual, Delilah Montagu, Zilo, Feder and working on his initial release. Inspired from his time spent working with artists, writers and producers, both in London and internationally, the music is written, produced and performed in full by Dan.

What Hidden Herd say: ‘Give What You Take’ has one of those rare openings – a disparate melange of intriguing melodies that slowly fall together to unveil a track that has originality in droves.
