Today, our new music spotlight is on Deanna Petcoff.

Location: Toronto, Canada.

Line-up: Deanna Petcoff (vocals/guitar), Callum Maudsley (vocals/guitar), Alex Stavros Laurie (vocals/guitar), Dylan Burrett (bass), Julian Psihogios (drums)

About: Deanna has been playing music professionally for seven years, committed to being as honest and as thoughtful as possible with the expression and execution of her work. A Toronto local, she has been performing at venues in and around the GTA since she was fourteen. She found her home among the Silver Dollar, the Horseshoe Tavern and many other staples in the indie scene. Her music has yet to be classified in a genre, instead being described as “bittersweet” and “exhilarating.” Finding influence from David Bowie, Patti Smith, and Mitski, she combines powerful melodies, expressive vocals and chugging guitar lines to create cathartic, and often upbeat songs about sad things.

What Hidden Herd say: Erupting out of eastern Canada with a notable energy is the notoriously-likeable up-and-comer Deanna Petcoff. Her style carries a nostalgic quality, bought to the present with modern teasings and punchy basslines.
