Today’s new music spotlight is on Drip Gloss.

Location: London/Brighton

Line-up: Vanilla Jenner (vocals/guitar), Katie McHugh (guitar/vocals), Ben Walker (bass/vocals), Joe McTaggart (drums)

About: Drip Gloss are a four-piece alt-pop band that launched on the south coast in 2017. Since forming, the band have been making waves – gigging alongside the likes of Bad Sounds and Boy Pablo, and capping off the summer by appearing at So Young Festival and the very first Hidden Herd Festival. Most recently, they played a run of dates supporting Brighton titans The Magic Gang on their huge recent academy tour, gaining a passionate new fan base in the process. The band’s first single ‘FAME’ tackles modern vanity and was recorded by Dave McCracken (Ian Brown, Depeche Mode) and mixed by London-based artist and producer Dreamtrak. It’s the start of exciting things to come.

What Hidden Herd say: After months of fervent anticipation, Drip Gloss have finally unleashed their dazzling debut single; a lightning-quick blast of prismatic alt-pop that plasters the ears with Game Boy bleeps, zingy hooks and day-glo grooves.
