A haunting introduction gives Elias‘ ‘Hope‘ a captivating opener from the get-go, leaving you on the singer’s every note without refrain. What starts as an intimate soul track pushes itself further into the realms of modern noir RnB, a wash of pulsing bass and despondent, drifting keys.

The backing vocals over the chorus give the track a gospel feel, which when coupled with track’s underlying broodiness gives Elias a notable similarity to Hozier, although with a stronger lean towards electronic undertones. Having been compared to accliamed singer/songwriters James Blake and Bon Iver by the likes of Noisey, it’s clear to see the creative aspirations they saw in his music. Another strong track ahead of the release of his debut album on Warner Music this year, Elias is picking up some serious steam.
