Today, our new music spotlight is on The Family Chain.
Line-up: George (vocals/guitar), Sam (guitar), Ollie (drums) and Callum (bass/vocals)
About: Since forming just over a year ago, The Family Chain have supported the likes of The Wytches and Francobollo and self-released a string of hotly-tipped singles. Their most recent track ‘Catholic’ – inspired by something they overheard a girl say at their hometown park The Level (“I don’t want to be a Catholic anymore”) – is their most assured record to date, produced by south coast multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Theo Verney.
What Hidden Herd say: The Family Chain’s broodingly atmospheric sound is something to behold, delicately building towards euphoric choruses that soar and swoop above a whirlpool of reverb-drenched guitar noise.
