Today’s new music spotlight is on Fergus.

Location: London

Line-up: Fergus (vocals/guitar), Jacob Nation (guitar) and Mike Cosburn (drums)

About: Hello I’m Fergus, I’m a singer-songwriter based in London. I tend to write about how I’m feeling, drawing on a lot of natural imagery for my lyrics. The songs are deeply personal… with a little artistic license (a lot) and plenty of melodrama. I grew up playing the cello and singing classical music, touring the world with choirs. It’s definitely influenced the way I think about music and I’m grateful for all I experienced, but I’m very glad – relieved actually – to have finally found my own voice and my own vision.

What Hidden Herd say: Sparse yet lush, Fergus‘s cathartic compositions ooze emotion. Enter his world via upcoming EP teaser ‘Too Much’, an orchestral-tinged AM ballad that leaves a lasting lump in the throat in the vein of Night Beds’ exquisite debut LP ‘Country Sleep’. Stream it below.
