Today, our new music spotlight is on GRDNS

Location: Bradford

Line-up: Jacob Lyons (vocals/guitar), Sam Gledhill (guitar), Cameron Harrison (bass) and John Fitzpatrick (drums).

About: GRDNS (pronounced ‘Gardens’) are Bradford’s hotly-tipped new psych outfit. Following the release of their debut single ‘Night Dance‘, ‘Juniper’ is the warm psych-pop track that takes influences from both the modern and vintage surf sounds and was the first track the band wrote. GRDNS write songs that are open to interpretation. Having gone into the studio with James Kenosha (Pulled Apart By Horses / Dinosaur Pile-Up), GRDNS have created their own blend of Northern, gritty psychedelia, or better described by the band as ‘Bradford Desert Rock.’

What Hidden Herd say:Juniper‘ continues GRDNS trademark opus; a psych-rock dream spreading a blanket of colour over the often-grey British Isles. Jacob Lyons’ soothing voice acts a guiding siren amidst their scaping melodies, reminding us of the charms of early Tame Impala.
