Today, our new music spotlight is on Magique.

Location: Leicester / Oxford

Line-up: CJ Pandit (vocals/keys/guitar)

About: With an intriguing blend of introverted, dreamy euphoria, Magique is the musical inception of Oxford/Leicester-based CJ Pandit. Born out of late night solo writing sessions across a whirlwind summer, followed by an intense stint in Foals’ Oxford studio, Magique had blossomed into a huge body of music. CJ often details and looks inwards at the little intricacies and patterns we fall in to in our friendships, relationships and everyday life, and Magique is a celebration of the unrecognised and unappreciated weirdness and compassion we all have within us, bathed in an uplifting wash of reverb and harmony.

What Hidden Herd say: Enigmatic tunesmith CJ Pandit is back with another otherworldly dose of 80s-ish synth-pop; one that starts dreamy before bursting with colour à la Twin Shadow circa ‘Confess’.
