Today, our new music spotlight is on Mellah.
Location: South London
Line-up: Liam Ramsden (vocals/guitar)
About: Multi-instrumentalist Mellah – aka Liam Ramsden – makes confronting, soul-searching music that asks questions about the world around him. As well as landing a coveted spot in the NME 100, he has been tipped as one of the most exciting artists to watch by swathes of music press (The FADER, Noisey, DIY, Mojo, Total Guitar) and mainstream newspapers alike (Observer, Independent, Sunday Times Culture, Metro, The Sun). Signed to Columbia Records, the South Londoner will release his second EP ‘Middle England’ on June 1st.
What Hidden Herd say: Mellah‘s unique and otherworldly indie-folk blend is odd, eerie and moreish, brimming with wry social observations and hypnotic refrains that burrow deep.
