Today, our new music spotlight is on Rascalton.

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Line-up: Jack Wyles (vocals/guitar), Steven Long (guitar), Mark Buchannan (bass) and Peg (drums)

About: After meeting at school in Stepps in the north of Glasgow, 2017 was Rascalton‘s most productive year yet, going from four friends playing in garages and basement venues, to one of Scotland’s most promising outfits. With the release of live favourite ‘This Is It’ and the ‘Lust/ Alone’ double A-side on Glasgow indie label Public, Rascalton have sold out the infamous King Tut’s and Sneaky Pete’s as well as storming performances at Electric Fields and Tenement Trail, cementing them as one of the countries most frenetic live acts. They have also started the beginnings of their European following, with an incredibly well-received tour of the mainland with Benjamin Booker.

What Hidden Herd say: With a ramshackle fusion of spiky guitars, rip-roaring swagger and glass-gargling vocals, Rascalton’s riotous rock ‘n’ roll has bags of vim and vigour in the vein of ‘Up The Bracket’-era Libertines.
