Rhys Lewis’ voice has a timeless quality that feels both deeply personal and almost overwhelmingly captivating. ‘Bad Timing‘ is lifted off Rhys’ debut EP which also features the soul-infused ’Bloodstains’, fan favourite ’Don’t Wanna Believe It’ and the beautifully intimate ’Reason To Hate You’.

Normally Rhys is arguably most impressive when he has minimal accompaniment, but this track is an intriguing exception. The dark instrumentation elevates Rhys’ voice and the bewitching drum beat further immerses you into this delightful track.

Similarly to other contemporaries such as Lewis Capaldi and Dermot Kennedy, Rhys isn’t afraid to delve into emotions that don’t completely conform to either agonising unrequited love or blissful intoxication. This confident song writing and the varying, yet complementary, track styles he incorporates into his different songs have us eager and excited to hear his debut album, expected to be released this summer.
