Today’s new music spotlight is on Sea Girls

Location: London

Line-up: Henry Camamile (Vocals/Guitar), Rory Young (Lead Guitar), Andrew Dawson (Bass) & Oli Khan (Drums)

About: Following a massive summer of festivals, one of the UK’s hottest bands, Sea Girls, share the video for their recent single “Violet”. The band, who had a summer packed full of shows including Reading & Leeds Festival, Electric Picnic, TRNSMT, Truck Festival and Benicàssim Festival, will also embark on an almost sold-out UK tour this October, which includes a date at London’s Kentish Town Forum on Thursday 10thOctober.

Directed by Michael Holyk, the video is shot in a haunting dis-used railway ticket station in Woolwich. Speaking of the video the band said, “‘We may have songs with darkness, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look to the light. ‘Violet’ is wildly optimistic and for the video we find ourselves in an abandoned building and this time we aren’t feeling sorry for ourselves.”

What Hidden Herd say: ‘Violet’s pulsing intro does well to set an expectation for Sea Girls’ latest swelling opus. Their melodic penchant’s for building lows and fist-pumping highs is ever-present, making ‘Violet’ a surefire anthem for the winter months.
