Today, our new music spotlight is on Sfven

Location: Leeds

Line-up: Sfven aka Jamie Clarke

About: Sfven, otherwise known as 21-year-old Jamie Clarke, has a unique sound which blends electronic beats with infectious vocal hooks, sweet melodies and meaningful lyrics. As Jamie himself says, he creates “sad stories entwined in happy tunes”. Beginning his musical journey after accidentally attending an inspiring music production class at university, he takes his name from a hard drive that his songs are stored on and is influenced by the likes of Louis the Child, Bon Iver, Flume and Whethan.

What Hidden Herd say: Whilst London has (in recent times) been holding the reigns on the latest wave of upstart electro pioneers, the North has been quietly busy building their own revolution.

Enter Sfven – a refreshing young talent casting his spell on the UK from Leeds, pulling together some notable cross-genre influences whilst layering them with his undeniable British charm.

For fans of: Flume / Louis the Child
