About: Swimming Tapes are a Northern Ireland-born, London-based indie five-piece creating dreamy guitar pop. Their sun-drenched melodies and intricately meandering guitar parts weave to form a haze of sound that instantly transports the listener to sunnier climes. Formed in early 2016, Swimming Tapes made waves in 2017, bookending the year with 2 EP releases – ‘Souvenirs’ and ‘Soft Sea Blue’. Having signed a global publishing deal with none other than Sub Pop in early 2018, the band have emerged from the studio – where they’ve been working on their to be announced debut LP – to release new stand-alone single ‘Easy Strand’.
What Hidden Herd say: ‘Easy Strand’ scans over to the more up-beat corners of Swimming Tapes delectable repertoire, channelling the perfect melancholy autumnal feelings to close the summer in style.
