Tokyo Tea Room‘s ‘World’s Apart’ seduces its listeners into the new year on a euphoric high. The track itself settles nicely into lucidity, seeming almost infinite and continually diverse. Think the beholding trance of Tame Impala with a kick of Wolf Alice (on some of their more expansive tracks).

That being said, the band do hold a serious sound of their own. Formed in a Canterbury basement, their music has an expansive quality which pushes far further than the confines of being hidden away. Some notable interest from BBC Introducing shows it’s confident appeal, and we expect some interesting things to come in 2017.
