Today’s new music spotlight is on Tuval.
Line-up: Tuval Schneerson (vocals/guitar/drums/bass/synths), Nadav Schneerson (drums/percussion), Josh Buchanan (bass) and Jack Arnold (synths/shakers)
About: Tuval is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, whose project is ever morphing; taking leaps through psych, soul, dark wave to jazz – tied together by a dreamy pop landscape. Having been compared to Elliott Smith, Jeff Buckley & Slowdive, Tuval‘s arrangements are fronted by an innovative band of sonic architects. Following on from his four self-produced EPs, he releases his latest single ‘Breathe’; a dreamy track that immediately oozes with influences, showing off everything from Jeff Buckley to D’Angelo. The London-based multi-instrumentalist has achieved an exceptional soundscape over which to tell a story which “came together following a break-up. It explores new transitions in lifestyle, intimacy in a non-linear way and short-lived connections”.
What Hidden Herd say: With whimsical mini-epics that straddle the gap between Mac DeMarco and Ariel Pink, Tuval‘s hazy psych-tinged world is a wondrous thing – and latest tune ‘Breathe’ could well be the best thing he’s dreamed up yet.
