Today, our new music spotlight is on Valeras.

Location: Reading, England

Line-up: Katie King (Guitar), Max Sealy (Drums), Rose Yagmur (Lead Vocals/Bass), Kat Beazley (Guitar) and George Parnell (Lead Guitar)

About: The music this dynamic five-piece produce belies their years with all members being aged between 17-19. Already tipped by Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Radio X and Spotify, and having played support slots with the Wombats, YONAKA, The Amazons, Fickle Friends and Demob Happy this year alone, Valeras are already making 2018 their own and have picked up a wild and devoted live following. As one of The Great Escape Festival’s First 50 for 2018, the band have just played Live at Leeds and Are You Listening? Festival and will hit the road in May to play three shows at both The Great Escape and Dot To Dot Festivals.

What Hidden Herd say:Painkiller‘ continues Valeras‘ noticeable distinction in today’s British rock scene. Rose Yagmur’s immediately-recognisable vocals layer over a delectable mix of alt-rock, pulling the best from grunge, funk and heavier influences to deliver something both dynamic and fresh.
