‘Terra’ is a kaleidoscopic journey that maintains tempo whilst experimenting with interesting layers and textures. Whilst the vocals stay consistent and calm, the track continues to play with percussion structures and increasingly complex and comprehensive instrumentals.

At first glance, Toothless have created a track which appears to be soothing and passive. It quickly becomes evident however that they’ve decided to take this track further and push a few boundaries. In doing so, they’ve managed to draw similarities to the vocals of Tobias Jesso Jr. and the rise and fall delicacy of Tunng; a craft that’s difficult to master.

It’s songs like this that are notoriously hard to categorise, but for good reason. ‘Terra’ is a respectable effort to push the conventional boundaries of standard songwriting.
